Words from our Biggest Fans!

Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Support Programs has the distinct privilege of working with CTCACF and the Inside Ride team. Over the past three years, Candlelighters has provided financial assistance to over 300 families as a direct result of the amazing Inside Ride events, making a real, tangible difference in the lives of kids with cancer. Proceeds increase Candlelighters’ capacity to help families with out-of-pocket costs that include medications not covered by OHIP or Insurance, utility bills, even buying groceries. Caring for a critically ill child is expensive – hospital parking costs, childcare for siblings, loss of income … parents are fighting to make ends meet as their children are fighting for their lives. Cancer is hard. These events not only raise much needed funding for programs, they provide Candlelighters with the opportunity to connect with our community in a unique, fun-filled event! And they provide hope to those families who are coping with childhood cancer, knowing that others are there to help.

It has been wonderful working with the entire team at Coast to Coast Against Cancer for the past four years. Their level of commitment, passion and professionalism is inspiring and contagious. Our community has embraced the Inside Ride event and this past year we were able to celebrate this great partnership by realizing more than $185,000 in revenue. We were so excited to receive financial support from the National ride efforts as well. Imagine the impact of investing these significant dollars towards pediatric cancer initiatives in just one cancer center in Canada? Imagine they are helping make this happen across our country! We are truly grateful for this opportunity to partner with this stellar organization. We are truly grateful for the amazing sponsors they have partnered with – without whom none of this would be possible. Thank you

  • The Inside Ride has allowed us to connect with the community in a way that we were not able to do so before; to bring them together in a community of support and raise much needed funds for childhood cancer; without this opportunity, we would not be able to do the work that we do each and every day.
  • Funds raised from our partnership with The Inside Ride and Coast to Coast exceeded last year’s amount and continue to help us build capacity to not only raise these much needed funds but to connect and engage with our community. We are so looking forward to this year’s event!
  • Last year through the support of the Inside Ride and Coast to Coast Against Cancer Foundation we were able to support over 650 families affected by childhood cancer. It is for this reasons and many more that we are so grateful for the support we receive; support that allows us to help families throughout their cancer journey and to let them know, they are never alone.

CTCACF and BCCCPA have become true brothers and sisters in the journey to improve the quality of life for kids/youth with cancer and blood disorders. This partnership has become an integral part of a life-saving team that strives for better survival rates and improved quality of life for kids/youth and their families.

It is inspiring to think of all the lives that have been saved as a result of the combined efforts of BCCCPA and CTCACF.

There is still much to do, we need your help.

The Inside Ride Team slid into town for their 3rd year in a row closing off their cross Canada tour in Victoria BC. We are so thankful for this relationship and look forward every year to this special event.

I have always stated that support for kids with cancer and their families far exceeds hospital walls. The Inside Ride is a great example of amazing individuals coming together and making a positive impact. Through spirit, heart and soul – this is always an amazing day.

The passion and dedication that is brought to Victoria is unbelievable and hugely infectious. The many kids with cancer and their families will always be heroes, but I can honestly say that Coast to Coast and the Inside Ride Team helps to nourish these heroes. The motivation, determination, and fun through the Inside Ride gives many struggling kids and their families hope.

Thank you for making a difference. Spreading awareness and compassion – this is a great recipe for hope. It is this hope that carries us and makes this journey a little easier.

Susan Kerr, Patient Family Liaison. Pediatric Oncology, Victoria, Vancouver Island BC

The inside ride was quite the experience! It was fun and exhilarating, especially pedaling in costumes!! But for our team it was emotional remembering not only what my son had been through but what all the other children had been or were going through!

Everyone needs a support network when you’re going through the shock of your child facing cancer, We want to spread the word and have double the teams next year.
Thanks a super experience!

Natalie Gaines, Victoria Inside Ride participant and pediatric oncology mom
