Redevelopment of the
Intensive Care Nursery
Through the generous support of our presenting sponsor – Mattamy Homes – and the volunteer teams provided by Coast to Coast Against Cancer Foundation and Gears Bike Shop, we are proud that we will be able to distribute 100% of participant donations to the charities we are supporting.
Funds from the 24 hour spin will be supporting the redevelopment of Trillium’s Intensive Care nursery, allowing staff to care for the most vulnerable patients in an environment designed for their special needs. The Intensive Care Nursery or ‘ICN’ cares for babies born up to eight weeks prematurely; approximately 90 to 100 such babies are admitted monthly. These little ones may be in distress or weak from sickness – they desperately need ‘round-the-clock observation and specialized, life-saving care.
Pediatric Oncology Financial
Assistance Program
This year, Coast to Coast Against Cancer will help support POGO’s Pediatric Oncology Financial Assistance Program (POFAP), which helps ease the financial burden of cancer for children and families across Ontario. POFAP is a funding program that helps families pay for food, accommodation and child care for siblings during the time their child is receiving cancer care. POFAP supports over 800 Ontario families each year.
Coast to Coast Against Cancer is a volunteer-based foundation that conducts a variety of fundraising programs on behalf of childhood cancer charities. 100% of donations raised are distributed to charities that improve the quality of life of children living with and beyond cancer. Since its inception, the founders of Coast to Coast Against Cancer Foundation have raised almost $9 million for childhood cancer charities.
